Design Registration

All pressure vessels to be installed in Western Australia require registration with either WorkSafe WA or the Department of Mines and Petroleum (formerly the Department of Industry and Resources Western Australia).

The information for registration is different for the two regulatory authorities:

WorkSafe Western Australia
In accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996, the following is required for registration:
  • An Application 100 form which includes a statement signed by the designer to the effect that the person has complied with the duties of a designer as outlined in the Regulations. If the equipment is being imported, then the importer may sign the statement. The form also must be signed by the design verifier. This form is available from our downloads page.
  • Representational drawings of the equipment.
  • The above statements and information must be in the English language.

An application for design registration form must be completed for each design. This form is available from our downloads page.

Department of Mines and Petroleum
The following information is required for registration:
  • Detailed drawings of the equipment.
  • Design calculations.
  • A design verification certificate (supplied by K.J. Beer as part of our verification service).

We can complete all required forms and submit a design for registration.
