A customer conducted NDT assessments of the a Sand Separator at various dates to determine the thickness of the cone shell at various locations. The results showed that there was localised thinning at a particular location on the shell. Calculations to provide a Finite Element Analysis of the cone shell were performed, including the results from the NDT for the localised thinning to determine if the separator was still in conformance with AS 1210-1997.
